YORU 001 : Yoruba I

Introduces the basic Yoruba language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). A proficiency- oriented approach is used in the course.

YORU 002 : Yoruba II

Reinforces the range of skills practiced in Yoruba 001, while focusing on expanding the student's vocabulary and fluency. The emphasis is on active participation as a means of expanding speaking, listening, reading and writing skills introduced in Yoruba 001. Students are prepared to handle real situations in foreign culture. Prerequisite: Yoruba 1 or placement by instructor.

Enhances understanding of great and enduring themes of humanistic inquiry. literary and philosophical works of major historical significance are explored. Prerequisites: None

YORU 015 : Intro to Humanities II

Examines the relationship of the self to the other, with all its attendant considerations, and concentrate on generic distinctions between comedy and tragedy in drama, autobiography, and fiction. Prerequisites: Humanities I or Intsructor's permission.
