ENGW 104 : Writing, Literacy, and Discourse

The first course of the required two-semester First-Year Writing with an emphasis on Writing Studies. Explore Writing Studies, a field that focuses on the production, circulation, and values of academic and other forms of writing. Examine theories about writing and gain a deep understanding of the writing process and certain forms of professional writing. Engage in discussion of contemporary issues and to develop a digital portfolio as a capstone project for the course.

Prerequisites/Permissions

Upon completion of this course students should register for ENGW 105. NOTE: Successful completion of this First Year Writing course requires a grade of or higher.
